School projects or WTF???

My son has a book report due on 2/9. As part of that, he must decorate a paperdoll like the subject of his book. Additionally, he must dress up like the subject of his book. His book is about Ben Franklin. Where AM I SUPPOSED TO FIND A BEN FRANKLIN COSTUME IN FEBRUARY??? I know, they expect me to make one. Afterall, I can't possibly be a single mom that works 60 hours a week. NO, I must be a stay at home Mom with tons of time and money.

Take it from a "stay-at-home Mom" (without a ton of money!), the key is not to stress over the costume by trying to make it too elaborate. Surely the teachers don't expect the students to have "perfect" costumes! Just get a pair of black sweat pants, push them up below his knees to look like knickers, then put on a pair of long socks. For a shirt, if you have a long-sleeve white button up, just let him wear that. How about a hat out of construction paper and maybe a couple of buckle looking things out of construction paper to stick on his shoes. There you have, not much time or money. You have my deep admiration for being a single mother working (more than) full time. Hang in there!

anonymous said it for me. Try baseball pants, they work great for colonial times. And, somewhere in my halloween stuff, I found a ponytail wig. My son wore a french cuff silk shirt of mine. :-)
