The Black Adder is the bastard prince, the forsaken malcontent. No matter how hard he tries he always ends up doing right (damned!) The best line that sums him up was to the queen (after her potential assassination): "Life without you would be like a broken pencil" the queen: "How do you mean?" Black Adder: "Pointless"
Mr. Bean on the other hand is humorous in negative proportion to how often you are exposed to dithering corporate idiots. If your working in any Dilbert-like setting he will be far too close to your daily reality to enjoy. Get a job at a laundromat in Laramie, Wyoming and he'll suddenly become funny.
